Diversity. Common Ground. New Beginnings! - The Lusatian Cultural Plan

With the "Lusatian Cultural Plan", the cultural sector in the region - in close coordination with the states of Brandenburg and Saxony - is to get not only a long-term strategy but a pragmatic project plan which should lay out an appropriate organisational structure for cultural project management in Lusetia. Out of diversity, via joint efforts, creating a signal for the future -- a true re-start!

We at the Neisse Film Festival actively support the Lusatian Cultural Plan. The involvement of cultural players and local citizens is the basis for sustainable regional development. Together we want to define what constitutes the cultural identity of Lusatia, and from this, derive concrete measures for structural change in the coming years. We, as people who create culture and are both responsible for and interested in it, are active contributors in committees, forums and workshops.

The Lusatian Cultural Plan is following on the heels of the "Lusetian Cultural Strategy 2025", which Dr. Martina Taubenberger developed last year; the results and recommendations of this are now to be reviewed, reflected upon, refined and further deepened. Over 120 participants from the tourism and administration branches joined in the event marking the project's official start on December 1, 2020.
