The festival trailer for NFF 2026

The trailer for NFF 2026 gives us “Wet Dreams” of the Neisse River. This year, it was created by Ferdinand Ehrhardt as a 3D animation using a mix of techniques, including photobashes and cell phone videos of his own eyes.

Ferdinand Ehrhardt, born in 1999, grew up on the outskirts of the Dresdner Heide. Playing with his brother’s stuffed animals led, through a series of happy coincidences, to his studies at the Animation Institute of the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg. There, he was able to experiment extensively with audiovisual storytelling and graduated in 2024 with the stop-motion short film “Detlev” which was screened in the competition at the NFF 2025. The film also screened at many internationally renowned festivals, such as SXSW and Annecy, and was awarded the German Short Film Prize in 2026. Ferdinand Ehrhardt lives and works as a freelance filmmaker in Leipzig.
