The Saxon Film Association (Filmverband Sachsen e.V.) is once again sponsoring the Special Award of the NFF with €1,000 to go to a film selected from among all films shown this year, whether a feature film, documentary or short film which is dedicated in a special way to increasing understanding regarding cultural and ethnic differences between various countries, or looks at similarities between them. These are this years nominees for the Special Award:
